“How a dream cozy became a reality: the case of 3D visualization of a terrace for a designer”
Returning from work, many of us dream: “I wish I was in a cozy, beautiful place and enjoy a cup of fragrant coffee”. Does that wish sound familiar? Thanks to 3D visualization, such dreams become closer to reality.
Today we are sharing a case study of a project in which we helped to realize the idea of a cozy terrace for our client.
1. Customer request
A designer asked our studio to create a 3D visualization of a terrace with a green hedge. It was necessary to show the interior both in the plan and in the section of the rooms.
2. Source materials
To start the work the client provided:
- Drawings with exact dimensions (width, total area);
- A photo of the site where the construction was to be done;
- PDF file with the layout;
- Specifying the specific location of the terrace on the plot - this allowed us to objectively assess the space.
Client's wishes on details of 3D rendering visualization rendering:
After discussing all details and wishes, we started visualization.
3. Material selection
To create a photorealistic render, our 3D artists started by selecting the necessary models and textures. Much of the required elements were already in our extensive CGI library.

4. Progress
The project was performed in 3ds Max. First we modeled the basic scene, arranged furniture and green hedges. After the first draft, the client asked to make corrections: to change the landscaping on the roof and add imitation green gardens. All adjustments were made promptly, and the client was satisfied with both the quality and timing.
5. Final result
As a result, the designer received a high-quality architectural visualization that fully meets her expectations. Photorealistic 3D rendering helped to effectively present the project and demonstrate the idea to the clients.
This case is an excellent example of how CGI outsourcing helps designers to realize even the most ambitious ideas, optimizing resources and improving communication with clients.
